Schema ER Diagram

Entity relationship browser

Visualize any SQL schema in seconds

Paste or upload a .sql file full of CREATE TABLE statements — or connect your saved live database — and the Schema Explorer draws every table as a node, linked by its foreign keys, in an interactive diagram you can drag, zoom, and click through.

How it works

  • Parsing: Every CREATE TABLE block is parsed for its columns, primary keys, and FOREIGN KEY ... REFERENCES clauses.
  • Layout: Tables become nodes; foreign key relationships become connecting edges, auto-arranged for readability.
  • Inspection: Click any table node to open the inspector panel with its full column list, types, and keys.
  • Live DB mode: Logged-in users with a saved active database can browse the real, current schema instead of an uploaded file.

Common use cases

Onboarding to a new codebase

Drop in the schema dump and get an instant mental map of how tables relate.

Documenting legacy databases

Generate a visual reference for systems that never had an ER diagram.

Reviewing a migration PR

Paste the new DDL and visually confirm relationships before merging.

Live schema audits

Connect your active database and browse the real, current structure.

FAQ

What file formats does it accept? Any .sql file containing CREATE TABLE statements — PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, or SQL Server dialects all parse correctly.

Can I browse my live database instead of uploading a file? Yes — if you're logged in with an active database connection set, switch to "Use Active DB" to browse the live schema directly.

Does it store my schema? No. Parsing happens in-memory for the request only; nothing is saved unless you explicitly create a saved database connection.

How large a schema can it handle? It comfortably renders schemas with hundreds of tables. The diagram supports pan and zoom for navigating large graphs.
